POWER TRAIN SYSTEM FOR A PROTOTYPE ECONOMIC VEHICLE

2006-11-21
2006-01-2547
This work has as objective describe the methodology employed for specification of a vehicle prototype propulsion system that running through the biggest distance with the minor fuel consumption, carrying in its consideration technical viability. For these we made dynamic analysis in order to identify the involved losses, the necessary force to submit and to keep the vehicle in movement, the system compatible transmission with the specified motor and the wheel diameter.

ROLLING RESISTANCE FORCE MEASURING

2007-11-28
2007-01-2632
The purpose of this work is to make a system for to measure the rolling force using a tire and a moving belt. The starting point is to establish study arguments as tire pressure, camber, divergence, convergence and steering knuckle force. The low cost made equipment allows the angles adjustment, and applied load on the wheel axis. The rolling resistance between tire and the moving belt in different speeds is measured using a load cell especially developed for the dynamic measurement. The system is able to measure under a diversity of conditions, offering results for tires choices and suspensions project.

SOFTWARE FOR VEHICLES PROPULSION SYSTEMS CALCULATION

2007-11-28
2007-01-2618
The objective of this work is to elaborate a software to determine characteristics such as torque, power and speed for transmission relation and rotation. The vehicle transmission is a component that is responsible for transmitting the motor power to drive vehicle wheels. The chemical energy (fuel) in power train is transformed in mechanical energy and in the most used cases are: internal combustion motors with Otto cycle and as well, as the Diesel cycle. The whole power train works on a certain rotations band, which is limited by the motor rotation. The dynamic condition of a vehicle is obtained with the resistance equation movement (rolling and drag). In other words, through it occurs the force balance in transmission with the need to force in the traction wheels, usually well known with resistance to the movement. The software elaborated in Excel was validated with experimental results.
