New Seven Speed DCT Transaxle and Effect of Angular Positioning of Shaft

2020-04-14
2020-01-0429
This paper presents about new concept developed on 7 speed DCT transaxle for transverse application and a torque capacity of 200 Nm to 360 Nm. How current 6 speed DCT can modified to 7 speed with packaging benefit is discussed. In this paper, discussions are focused about torque carrying parts of transaxle only. Here only single countershaft is used giving lot of packaging advantage and at first glance layout looks like four speed layout, but it is compact layout. Further in this paper effect of angular position of shaft in layout is discussed. Position of shafts in transaxle layout effects the stress, bending moment and displacement induced in shaft. Detailed study on effect of change in angle with respect to Bending moment, Stress in shaft, Cylindrical roller bearing (CRB) and Deep Groove Ball Bearing (DGBB) Bearing reaction force analysis, life calculations are computed.

Setting of Inspection Parameters for Automotive Transmission Parts in Various Bench Tests

2013-01-2448
This paper deals with setting of Inspection parameters for selected automotive transmission parts in various bench tests. This paper we are discuss about critical dimension's measured for particular type of test. It is not possible to measure all the dimensions of a component for doing a particular test. This is due to time constraints set by program delivery deadlines. From above statement it can be deduced that it is almost impossible to measure all dimensions of a component. A bench level test may consist of two major tests. They are maximum load test and gear shift durability test. The maximum load test deals with gear box durability test and torque carrying capacity of gearbox. Parameters to be measured for some of above parts will be identified. More importantly it will also identify see reasons for that parameter to be measured.

2022-01-0649
This paper presents about idea developed in electric car transmission for transverse application and a torque capacity of 200 Nm to 360 Nm. How current differential case support bearing type is changed with added advantage is discussed. Further, in this paper, effect of change in bearing type is discussed. Detailed study on the effect of change in bearing type is done and also bearing stress and life calculations are computed. Further how current differential case material is changed with added advantage is discussed. Detailed analysis of differential case is done to arrive at feasible lightweight conclusion. Our proposed research methodology is expected to be useful in reducing mass and without reducing desired product life.

Analytical Method to Determine Press-fit Tolerance between Torque Carrying Members

2012-09-24
2012-01-1996
This paper deals with an analytical method to calculate the press-fit tolerance and fits between gears and shaft for automotive applications. The relative interferences increase sharply in the small diameter range, therefore one must be especially careful when designing small diameter joints. The strength of press-fit depends on the amount of relative interference; extreme interference leads to excessive contact stresses between the gear and shaft eventually leading to failure. Too little interference leads to slippage of gear on the shaft. In the press fit connection a shaft's spline rolling operation and gear internal broaching is eliminated. It is more economical than a conventional spline connection. Press fit connections are used in various transmission between a shaft and a gear. They are used in 6 speed transmission to 9-speed transmission for (German based Vehicle Manufacturer) heavy and light commercial vehicle company.
