CONCORDE will achieve a greatest revolution in civil air transport as far as technical aspects and overall quality are concerned than former improvements brought by subsonic jets introduction. Overflying the sound barrier introduces in fact technical problems difficult to overcome, but, nearly unlimited speed range prospects for future aircraft offer an almost unforeseenable advantage. These first steps at Mach 2 will result in a drastic reduction in travel time - giving possibility of linking any towns in the world in less than twelve hours-which cannot be appreciated at the present moment.
