The purpose of this standard is to provide a source of definitions of terms and acronyms commonly used in the air transport maintenance community for test and evaluation with an emphasis on terms applicable to BITE.
The purpose of this document is to establish guidelines that should be observed during initial design, production, and maintenance of aircraft components, and to present short-term and long-term strategies to minimize the costs and impacts associated with decreasing availability of components.
This document is based upon the SAE ARP5602 document, A Guideline for Aerospace Platform Fiber Optic Training and Awareness Education. ARINC Report 807: Fiber Optic Training Requirements is a subset of the SAE ARP5602 document designed to meet the requirements of the commercial air transport industry. Certification to the SAE ARP5602 document fulfills the requirements of ARINC Report 807. This document defines recommended general practices for training requirements of aerospace fiber optic systems. It is the intention of this document to outline proven training practices and general standards of workmanship for technicians engaged in aerospace fiber optic manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and repair for the air transport industry. It is also recommended that management and purchasing personnel receive fundamental training to familiarize themselves with the requirements of aerospace fiber optics.

This document will address measures pertaining to and directly associated with the maintainability and reliability of FSTDs throughout their entire life cycle, from initial specification and design to de-commissioning. Although the primary emphasis of this document is on full flight simulators (with motion and visual systems), it should be applicable in part or total to all FSTDs.
This document establishes the minimum criteria for effective training of air carrier and contractor personnel to deice/anti-ice aircraft to ensure the safe operation of aircraft during ground icing conditions. Appendix D specifies guidelines for particular airplane models.
AS8049A currently requires adjustable features on aircraft seats to be designed so they can be returned to the positions required for taxi, takeoff and landing by the occupant without the release of the occupant restraints. This ARD will demonstrate Aviation Industry support for revisions to TSO-C39c and TSO-C127a to allow Technical Standard Order (TSO) approval of aircraft seat products designed with adjustable features that require the release of occupant restraints to return the feature to the taxi, takeoff and landing position.
This SAE Standard applies to equipment to be used to recovery R-152a refrigerant only. Refrigerant recovery equipment is required to ensure adequate refrigerant recovery to reduce emissions and provide safe and accurate service of the AC system. Equipment shall be certified to meet all performance requirements outlined in this document.
This SAE standard applies to refrigerant identification equipment to be used for identifying an acceptable level of R-152a purity in a refrigerant tank or vehicle MAC system labeled as containing R-152a, and not misidentify other refrigerants.

It establishes requirements for equipment used to recharge R-152a to an industry accepted accuracy level and purity levels defined in SAE J2099. Refrigerant service equipment is required to ensure adequate refrigerant recovery to reduce emissions and provide for accurate recharging of mobile air conditioning systems. Equipment shall be certified to meet all performance requirements outlined in this document and international/regional construction and safety requirements as outlined in this document.
This SAE Standard provides testing and functional requirements to meet specified minimum performance criteria for electronic probe-type leak detectors suitable for use with R-152a, an A2 flammable refrigerant. The equipment specified here will identify smaller refrigerant leaks when servicing motor vehicle air conditioning systems, including those engineered with improved sealing and smaller refrigerant charges to address environmental concerns and increase system efficiency.
This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) provides guidance to develop and assure validation and verification of IVHM systems used in autonomous aircraft, vehicles and driver assistance functions. IVHM covers a vehicle, monitoring and data processing functions inherent within its sub-systems, and the tools and processes used to manage and restore the vehicle’s health. The scope of this document is to address challenges and identify recommendations for the application of integrated vehicle health management (IVHM) specifically to intelligent systems performing tasks autonomously within the mobility sector. This document will focus on the core aspects of IVHM for autonomous vehicles that are common to both aerospace and automotive applications. It is anticipated that additional documents will be developed separately to cover aspects of this functionality that are unique to each application domain.
