Assessment of Nonconforming Levels In Parts Per Million (PPM)

2016-05-31
CURRENT
EIA554_2
This standard is intended to provide a uniform method of determining proportion nonconforming in finished components and to provide a standardized definition of the quality index referred to as PPM. The method used here is primarily directed at components whose production or procured volume is large enough, during some predefined sampling period, to give statistically meaningful information.

CUSHION TOW HITCHES TEST

1992-08-18
HISTORICAL
AIR1353A
The main purpose of this test was to determine the application advantages of cushion tow hitches in comparison to the commonly used rigid tow hitch type fitted on heavy aircraft towing tractors. As diverse opinions emerged about its suitability since the introduction on the market of this new tow hitch type, it was intended to physically measure and evaluate the damping capability of this cushioned tow link when applied in practice.

Clamps, Support, Comparative Fatigue Strengths, Test Method

2007-08-14
HISTORICAL
ARP1974
This recommended practice establishes vibration and transmissibility test procedures which compare the relative strengths of various loop and saddle type support clamps. This procedure is intended for conducting fatigue testing which is standard throughout the aerospace industry thereby establishing a clamp strength comparison which can be used in an evaluation process. The testing required by this recommended practice ensures that clamps will meet adequate fatigue requirements only. It does not infer qualification of the clamp installation techniques or its ability to meet in-service environments or operating conditions. Separate qualification testing should be performed to ensure satisfactory service of the installed clamp.

Aircraft and Aircraft Engine Fuel Pump Low Lubricity Fluid Endurance Test

2014-12-11
CURRENT
ARP1797A
This procedure is intended to apply to fuel pumps. This procedure will be defined in terms of recommended test fluid, test setup, test conditions, and test method. This procedure may be used for other fuel system components, by testing in conjunction with the pump, which normally supplies the component inlet flow, or a substitute test pump of similar capacity. This procedure may be used, with variations in test conditions and test fluid for performing pump evaluation tests. Tests at progressively increasing pump speeds and pressures will provide design limitation data. Alternate test periods on a test pump and another pump, of a design for which actual service durability is known, will provide useful comparison data.
