This specification sheet establishes requirements for a low collapse pressure configuration filter element of a specific configuration with a minimum filtration ratio of 75 for particles larger than ? μm when designed and tested in accordance with SAE J2321 and this specification sheet.
Note: The efficiency and dirt capacity have not yet been determined..
Rationale: This filter element is being developed specifically to replace the SAE J2321-2 filter elements used in Controllable Pitch Propeller Control System on Navy ships. A higher flow element with greater dirt capacity is required and this is to be achieved primarily by reducing the collapse pressure and the efficiency of the element.
