If the institution you work for is tax exempt, the following documents are required at check in:

• Copy of the tax exempt form (issued by state of Florida);
• Copy of the method of payment (credit card, credit card authorization form, check), the institution listed on the tax exempt form needs to match the name on the credit card, credit card authorization form or check.

Embassy Suites:

• Federal Government ID, or official travel orders
• Federal Government issued credit card with employee’s name
• Fill out a tax exempt certificate at the front desk

Westin Tampa Waterside:

For an individual who is a Federal Government Employee to qualify for Tax Exemption, the payer must provide the Front Desk with a completed Federal Tax Exemption Form at the time of check-in. Without the form received by the hotel, the purchase will be subject to the Sales and Occupancy taxes for the applicable charges and will be charged accordingly.

For an individual who is a State Government Employee to qualify for Tax Exemption, the payer must provide a copy of the State of Florida Tax Exempt Form at the time of check-in. The Payer must use a method of payment directly from the institution. Personal Credit Cards, personal Debit Cards, personal checks and cash will result in a disqualification from tax exemption eligibility, even if the Tax Exempt Institution is reimbursing the payer. Tax Exemption forms from states other than Florida cannot be accepted.

Hilton Tampa Downtown:

Employees of the Federal Government or its agencies are exempt. The individual checking in should be aware whether or not their entity is Federal but if such is not the case, see this website for a list of US Government Departments & Agencies

A federal employee is exempt from state and occupancy tax given

• The Federal Government pays or reimburses the employee
• Employee does not use the transient accommodation for personal purposes
• Employee provides a written statement affirming that the US Government will either pay the hotel directly or reimburse the employee (Employee is to fill out the attached exempt certificate to be used by Fed employees)
