Air Freighting in Middle East Industrial Development: The Role of the Wide-Body Aircraft 760439
Air Cargo is well established on the world's major airline networks. Continued growth has led to the introduction of cargo versions of even the biggest commercial aircraft. There is, however, a “missing link” in the transportation chain in most parts of the world: a vehicle whose size and performance characteristics will enable it to provide economic cargo services to communities remote from cities served by long range aircraft.
By providing “through containers” links between smaller communities and the world's major production centers, such aircraft can be powerful tools in the industrial development of regions such as the Middle East.
