The Small Reversible Tractors from Kubota 851528

Kubota has introduced as part of its new product line a new series of comparatively small reversible tractors which were designed to meet new needs arising from changing patterns of Japanese farming. In Japan, the dominant element in agricultural economy has been, traditionally, rice production. Recently, a more shift has been clearly detected, in which farmers are now turning to “composite farming” in which they grow more wheat, barley, vegetables and forage along with rice. This paper discusses the changing economy as a background, the technical problems and solutions involved in the development of new tractors, and the features and applications of this new equipment in the field.
