All-Wheel Drive with Visco-Coupler Interposed on a Fast Rotating Transmission Shaft 890099
This paper describes the priciple of a four wheel drive transmission with a viscocoupler interposed on a high speed transmission shaft. For a given power transmitted, the initial choice: high speed - low torque, allows to increase the sensitivity of the system up to reach the same order of magnitude of circumference variations of tires due to load, speed or torque. The final result is a permanent operation in four wheel drive, whith an automatic distribution of torque between front and rear axles, depending upon the case of use of the vehicle. This system is fully reversible when braking, with an improved efficiency and still: remains compatible with ABS System.
