Stability of R-134a in the Presence of Nocolok® Flux Residues 980052

Since the Nocolok® flux brazing process is now widely used to manufacture heat exchangers, the stability of R-134a (1,1,1,2 Tetrafluoroethane) in the presence of flux residues was tested in a realistic environment. Various fluxed and brazed samples where incorporated into a refrigeration test apparatus simulating an automotive air conditioning unit which was established for that purpose.
The paper describes the details of the test rig and the test procedure. It describes the results of the tests and shows the compatibility of Nocolok® flux residues and R-134a.
