Such systems are usually installed in wings, nacelle intakes, pitot tubes, stabilizers, and propeller and helicopter rotor blades. These safety-critical systems follow a certification requirement per Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) part 23, 25, 27, 29, and others, for the various types of aircraft and rotorcraft as well as engines.
