Rubber: Vinyl-Methyl Silicone (VMQ) Hot Air Resistant Low Compression Set, 70 to 80 Type A Hardness for Seals in Hot Air Systems

2021-05-19
CURRENT
AMS7267H
This specification covers a silicone (VMQ) rubber in the form of molded rings. These rings have been used typically as sealing rings for service from -65 to +260 °C (-85 to +500 °F) in contact with air, but usage is not limited to such applications. The cross-section of such rings is usually not over 0.275 inch (6.98 mm) in diameter or thickness.

Age Control of Age Sensitive Elastomeric Materials

2018-04-11
CURRENT
AIR1364B
This SAE Aerospace Information Report (AIR) summarizes data and background relative to age control of specific classes of those nitrile type synthetic elastomers used in sealing devices which are resistant to petroleum base hydraulic fluids, lubricating oils, and aircraft fuels. This includes, but is not limited to, those nitrile (NBR or BUNA-N) elastomers previously covered by Section I of MIL-STD-1523.
