Coordinated Charging and Dispatching for Large-Scale Electric Taxi Fleets Based on Bi-Level Spatiotemporal Optimization

The operation management of electric Taxi fleets requires cooperative optimization of Charging and Dispatching. The challenge is to make real-time decisions about which is the optimal charging station or passenger for each vehicle in the fleet. With the rapid advancement of Vehicle Internet of Things (VIOT) technologies, the aforementioned challenge can be readily addressed by leveraging big data analytics and machine learning algorithms, thereby contributing to smarter transportation systems. This study focuses on optimizing real-time decision-making for charging and dispatching in large-scale electric taxi fleets to improve their long-term benefits. To achieve this goal, a spatiotemporal decision framework using Bi-level optimization is proposed. Initially, a deep reinforcement learning-based model is built to estimate the value of charging and order dispatching under uncertainty.

A Target-Speech-Feature-Aware Module for U-Net Based Speech Enhancement

Speech enhancement can extract clean speech from noise interference, enhancing its perceptual quality and intelligibility. This technology has significant applications in in-car intelligent voice interaction. However, the complex noise environment inside the vehicle, especially the human voice interference is very prominent, which brings great challenges to the vehicle speech interaction system. In this paper, we propose a speech enhancement method based on target speech features, which can better extract clean speech and improve the perceptual quality and intelligibility of enhanced speech in the environment of human noise interference. To this end, we propose a design method for the middle layer of the U-Net architecture based on Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), which can automatically extract the target speech features that are highly distinguishable from the noise signal and human voice interference features in noisy speech, and realize the targeted extraction of clean speech.

Temperature Accurate Prediction Method of Electric Drive Transmission Considering Spatio-Temporal Correlation Characteristics under High Speed and Heavy Load Working Conditions

Accurate prediction temperature variation of electric drive transmission (EDT) can effectively monitor its abnormal temperature rise that may occur under high speed and heavy load working conditions, so as to ensure the vehicles’ safe operation. In this paper, combined with real temperature and input/output characteristic data collected from EDT test platform under different working conditions, a spatio-temporal relationship dynamic graph convolution neural network based on least square method (OLS-DRGCN) for temperature prediction is proposed. Firstly, OLS is used to estimate the EDT’s internal temperature based on partial sensor information as the input of OLS-DRGCN. Secondly, the spatial dependence relationship of each temperature node is dynamically learned through node embedding and the dynamic thermal network topology of EDT is constructed. Meanwhile, the timing rule of each temperature node is obtained through the gated recurrent unit.

The Influence of Hyperparameters of a Neural Network on the Augmented RANS Model Using Field Inversion and Machine Learning

In the field of vehicle aerodynamic simulation, Reynold Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) model is widely used due to its high efficiency. However, it has some limitations in capturing complex flow features and simulating large separated flows. In order to improve the computational accuracy within a suitable cost, the Field Inversion and Machine Learning (FIML) method, based on a data-driven approach, has received increasing attention in recent years. In this paper, the optimal coefficients of the Generalized k-ω (GEKO) model are firstly obtained by the discrete adjoint method of FIML, utilizing the results of wind tunnel experiments. Then, the mapping relationship between the flow field characteristics and the optimal coefficients is established by a neural network to augment the turbulence model.

A Method of Generating a Composite Dataset for Monitoring of Non-Driving Related Tasks

Recently, several datasets have become available for occupant monitoring algorithm development, including real and synthetic datasets. However, real data acquisition is expensive and labeling is complex, while virtual data may not accurately reflect actual human physiology. To address these issues and obtain high-fidelity data for training intelligent driving monitoring systems, we have constructed a hybrid dataset that combines real driving image data with corresponding virtual data generated from 3D driving scenarios. We have also taken into account individual anthropometric measures and driving postures. Our approach not only greatly enriches the dataset by using virtual data to augment the sample size, but it also saves the need for extensive annotation efforts. Besides, we can enhance the authenticity of the virtual data by applying ergonomics techniques based on RAMSIS, which is crucial in dataset construction.

The software installed in Electronic Control Units (ECUs) has witnessed a significant scale expansion as the functionality of Intelligent Connected Vehicles (ICVs) has become more sophisticated. To seek convenient long-term functional maintenance, stakeholders want to access ECUs data or update software from anywhere via diagnostic. Accordingly, as one of the external interfaces, Diagnostics over Internet Protocol (DoIP) is inevitably prone to malicious attacks. It is essential to note that cybersecurity threats not only arise from inherent protocol defects but also consider software implementation vulnerabilities. When implementing a specification, developers have considerable freedom to decide how to proceed. Differences between protocol specifications and implementations are often unavoidable, which can result in security vulnerabilities and potential attacks exploiting them.

Simulation Study of the Effect of Nozzle Position and Hydrogen Injection Strategy on Hydrogen Engine Combustion Characteristic

Hydrogen energy is a kind of secondary energy with an abundant source, wide application, green, and is low-carbon, which is important for building a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient energy system and achieving the goal of carbon peaking and being carbon neutral. In this paper, the effect of nozzle position, hydrogen injection timing, and ignition timing on the in-cylinder combustion characteristics is investigated separately with the 13E hydrogen engine as the simulation object. The test results show that when the nozzle position is set in the middle of the intake and exhaust tracts (L2 and L3), the peak in-cylinder pressure is slightly higher than that of L1, but when the nozzle position is L2, the cylinder pressure curve is the smoothest, the peak exothermic rate is the lowest, and the peak cylinder temperature is the lowest.

With the increase of motor speed and the deterioration of operating environment, it is more difficult to predict the transient temperature field (TTF). Meanwhile, it is difficult to obtain the temperature test dataset of key nodes under various complete road conditions, so the cost of bench test or real vehicle test is high. Therefore, it is of great significance to establish a high fidelity, lightweight temperature prediction model which can be applied to real vehicle thermal management for ensuring the safe and stable operation of motor. In this paper, a physical model simulating electromagnetic-heat-flow multi-physical coupling of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) in electric drive gearbox (EDG) is established, and the correctness of the model is verified by the actual EDG bench test.

Experimental Analysis and Dynamic Optimization Design of Hinge Mechanism

Optimization design of hard point parameters for hinge mechanism has been paid more attention in recent years, attributable to their significant improvement in dynamic performance. In this paper, the experimental analysis and dynamic optimization design of hinge mechanism is performed. The acceleration measurement experiments are carried out at different arrangement points and under different working conditions. Furthermore, the accuracy of established multi-body dynamics model is verified by three-axis accelerometer measurement experiment. In addition, sensitivity analysis for electric strut and gas strut coordinates is performed and shows that the Y coordinate of the lower end point of the electric strut is the design variable that has the greatest impact on the responses.

An Intrusion Detection System Based on the Double-Decision-Tree Method for In-Vehicle Network

Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), technically speaking, is to monitor the network, system, and operation status according to certain security policies, and try to find various attack attempts, attacks or attack results to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of network system resources. Automotive intrusion detection systems can identify and alert by analyzing in-vehicle traffic and log when software applications or devices with malicious activity exist, or the in-vehicle network is tampered and injected. But unfortunately, automotive cybersecurity researchers hardly produce a comprehensive detection method due to the confidential nature of Controller Area Network (CAN) DBC format files, which is a standard long maintained by car manufacturers. In this paper, an enhanced intrusion detection method is proposed based on the double-decision-tree to classify different attack models for in-vehicle CAN network without the need to obtain complete DBC files.

A Unified Frequency Understanding of Image Corruptions and its Application to Autonomous Driving

Image corruptions due to noise, blur, contrast change, etc., could lead to a significant performance decline of Deep Neural Networks (DNN), which poses a potential threat to DNN-based autonomous vehicles. Previous works attempted to explain corruption from a Fourier perspective. By comparing the absolute Fourier spectrum difference between corrupted images and clean images in the RGB color space, they regard the noise from some corruptions (Gaussian noise, defocus blur, etc.) as concentrating on the high-frequency components while others (contrast, fog, etc.) concentrate on the low-frequency components. In this work, we present a new perspective that unifies corruptions as noise from high frequency and thus propose an image augmentation algorithm to achieve a more robust performance against common corruptions. First, we notice the 1/fα statistical rule of the natural image's spectrum and the channels-wise differential sensitivity on the YCbCr color space of the Human Visual System.

Dynamic Switch Control of Steering Modes for 4WID-4WIS Electric Vehicle Based on MOEA/D Optimization

To overcome the shortcoming that vehicles with multiple steering modes need to switch steering modes at parking or very low speeds, a dynamic switch method of steering modes based on MOEA/D (Multi-objective Evolutionary Algorithm Based on Decomposition) was proposed for 4WID-4WIS (Four Wheel Independent Drive-Four Wheel Independent Steering) electric vehicle, considering the smoothness of dynamic switch, the lateral stability of the vehicle and the energy economy of tires. First of all, the vehicle model of 4WID-4WIS was established, and steering modes were introduced and analyzed. Secondly, the conditions for the dynamic switch of steering modes were designed with the goal of stability and safety. According to different constraints, the control strategy was formulated to obtain the target angle of the active wheels. Then aiming at the smoothness of the dynamic switch, the active wheel angle trajectory was constructed based on the B-spline theory.

A Method for Building Vehicle Trajectory Data Sets Based on Drone Videos

The research and development of data-driven highly automated driving system components such as trajectory prediction, motion planning, driving test scenario generation, and safety validation all require large amounts of naturalistic vehicle trajectory data. Therefore, a variety of data collection methods have emerged to meet the growing demand. Among these, camera-equipped drones are gaining more and more attention because of their obvious advantages. Specifically, compared to others, drones have a wider field of bird's eye view, which is less likely to be blocked, and they could collect more complete and natural vehicle trajectory data. Besides, they are not easily observed by traffic participants and ensure that the human driver behavior data collected is realistic and natural. In this paper, we present a complete vehicle trajectory data extraction framework based on aerial videos. It consists of three parts: 1) objects detection, 2) data association, and 3) data cleaning.

Study on the Diffusion Law of Electric Vehicle Sharing in Complex Social Network Environment

Electric vehicle sharing (EVS) can alleviate traffic congestion and reduce emissions. However, the poor user experience and lack of word-of-mouth effect lead to the low utilization rate of EVS in China. Based on the demand and pain points of EVS, this paper concentrates on travel mode choice behavior of consumers under social networks and establishes an agent-based model for EVS diffusion. The results show that: (1) Social networks can promote the diffusion of EVS and the number of opinion leaders and the number of fans of opinion leaders play an important role. (2) Consumers are more sensitive to travel costs than non-travel time now, but with the improvement of demand for travel experience, consumers are more concerned with non-travel time. (3) The non-travel time of EVS needs to be reduced to 9, 8 and 7 minutes respectively to retain users when the travel cost increases to 0.7, 0.8 and 0.9 Yuan/minute.

Probabilistic Vehicle Trajectory Prediction Based on LSTM Encoder-Decoder and Attention Mechanism

In order to realize driving safety in highway scenarios, autonomous vehicles need to predict and reason about the driving intentions and motion trajectories of surrounding target vehicles in the near feature. Essentially, trajectory prediction of target vehicles can be viewed as a typical time series generation problem, which predicts the future trajectory of the vehicle through analyzing the input of historical trajectory information or its control signals. In actual traffic scenarios, the movement between vehicles is a process of mutual game and cooperation, namely the future trajectory of a vehicle is not only related to its own historical trajectory, but also to surrounding vehicles motion. However, different surrounding traffic participants have different influence on the target vehicle, and the future motion of the vehicle is often affected by some specific surrounding traffic agents deeply.

A method of Speed Prediction Based on Markov Chain Theory Using Actual Driving Cycle

As a prerequisite for energy management of hybrid vehicles, the results of speed prediction can optimize the performance of vehicles and improve fuel efficiency. Energy management strategies are usually developed based on standard driving cycles, which are too generalized to show the variability of driving conditions in different time and locations. Therefore, this paper constructs a representative driving cycle based on driving data of the corresponding time and location, used as historical information for prediction. We propose a method to construct the driving cycle based on Markov chain theory before constructing the prediction model. In this paper, multiple prediction methods are compared with traditional parametric methods. The difference in prediction accuracy between multiple prediction methods under the single time scale and multiple time scale were compared, which further verified the advantages of the speed prediction method based on Markov chain theory.

Performance Limitations Analysis of Visual Sensors in Low Light Conditions Based on Field Test

Visual sensors are widely used in autonomous vehicles (AVs) for object detection due to the advantages of abundant information and low-cost. But the performance of visual sensors is highly affected by low light conditions when AVs driving at nighttime and in the tunnel. The low light conditions decrease the image quality and the performance of object detection, and may cause safety of the intended functionality (SOTIF) problems. Therefore, to analyze the performance limitations of visual sensors in low light conditions, a controlled light experiment on a proving ground is designed. The influences of low light conditions on the two-stage algorithm and the single-stage algorithm are compared and analyzed quantificationally by constructing an evaluation index set from three aspects of missing detection, classification, and positioning accuracy.

Micro Gesture Recognition of the Millimeter-Wave Radar Based on Multi-branch Residual Neural Network

A formal gesture recognition based on optics has limitations, but millimeter-wave (MMW) radar has shown significant advantages in gesture recognition. Therefore, the MMW radar has become the most promising human-computer interaction equipment, which can be used for human-computer interaction of vehicle personnel. This paper proposes a multi-branch network based on a residual neural network (ResNet) to solve the problems of insufficient feature extraction and fusion of the MMW radar and immense algorithm complexity. By constructing the gesture sample library of six gestures, the MMW radar signal is processed and coupled to establish the relationship between the motion parameters of the distance, speed, and angle of the gesture information and time, and the depth features are extracted. Then the three depth features are fused. Finally, the classification and recognition of MMW radar gesture signals are realized through the full connection layer.

77 GHz Radar Based Multi-Target Tracking Algorithm on Expressway Condition

Multi-Target tracking is a central aspect of modeling the surrounding environment of autonomous vehicles. Automotive millimeter-wave radar is a necessary component in the autonomous driving system. One of the biggest advantages of radar is it measures the velocity directly. Another big advantage is that the radar is less influenced by environmental conditions. It can work day and night, in rainy or snowy conditions. In the expressway scenario, the forward-looking radar can generate multiple objects, to properly track the leading vehicle or neighbor-lane vehicle, a multi-target tracking algorithm is required. How to associate the track and the measurement or data association is an important question in a multi-target tracking system. This paper applies the nearest-neighbor method to solve the data association problem and uses an extended Kalman filter to update the state of the track.
