Shielding of Starter System Energization

2002-12-19
HISTORICAL
J1493_200212
This SAE Standard specifies the requirements to help prevent inadvertent and to discourage deliberate electrical connection at the starter motor solenoid or starter relay which may result in the starter pinion engaging the ring gear. This document applies to off-road, self-propelled work machines, as identified in SAE J1116, which have the potential of powered movement as a direct result of the starter pinion engaging the ring gear.
Standard

Tire Guards for Operator Protection—Earthmoving Haulage Machines

1999-05-24
HISTORICAL
J321_199905
This SAE Standard establishes a criteria for a minimum zone of protection for the operator of the machine and establishes certain structural requirements for guards on pneumatic-tired earthmoving haulage machines capable of speeds in excess of 25 km/h. Earthmoving machines covered by this document are dumpers and tractor-scrapers as identified in SAE J/ISO 6165.
