Harmonic injection method for NVH optimization of permanent magnet synchronous motors considering the structural characteristics of the machine

2024-07-02
2024-01-3015
Noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) is one of the most important performance evaluation aspect of electric motors. Among the different causes of the NVH issues of electrical drives, the high-frequency spatial and temporal harmonics of the electrical drive system is of great importance. To reduce the tonal noise of the electric motors, harmonic injection methods can be applied. However, a lot of the existing related work focuses more on improving the optimization process of the parameter settings of the injected current/flux/voltage, which are usually limited to some specific working conditions. The applicability and effectivity of the algorithm to the whole frequency/speed range are not investigated. In this paper, a multi-domain pipeline of harmonic injection controller design for a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is proposed.

Analytical and Experimental Evaluation of Seal Drag using Variety of Different Fluids

2024-26-0423
The present study discusses about the determination of the Seal drag force in the application where elastomeric seal is used with metallic interface in the presence of different fluids. An analytical model was constructed to predict the seal drag force and experimental test was performed to check the fidelity of the analytical model. A Design of Experiment (DoE) was utilized to perform experimental test considering different factors affecting the Seal drag force. Statistical tools such as Test for Equal Variances and One way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) were used to draw inferences for population based on samples tested in the DoE test. It was observed that Glycol based fluids lead to lubricant wash off resulting into increased seal drag force. Additionally, non-lubricated seals tend to show higher seal drag force as compared to lubricated seals. Keywords: Seal Drag, DoE, ANOVA

Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFM/DFA)

2024-05-22
Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM+A), pioneered by Boothroyd and Dewhurst, has been used by many companies around the world to develop creative product designs that use optimal manufacturing and assembly processes. Correctly applied, DFM+A analysis leads to significant reductions in production cost, without compromising product time-to-market goals, functionality, quality, serviceability, or other attributes. In this two-day course, you will not only learn the Boothroyd Dewhurst Method, you will actually apply it to your own product design!

2024-05-09
CURRENT
MA1943C
This procurement specification covers aircraft quality self-locking nuts for wrenching (hex, spline) and anchor (plate, gang channel, shank) types of nuts made from a corrosion and heat-resistant nickel-base alloy of the type identified under the Unified Numbering System as UNS N07001. Tension height nuts having overall length of threaded portion not less than 1.2 times the nominal thread diameter have 1210 MPa minimum tensile strength at room temperature. Shear height nuts having shorter threaded portion have 1100 MPa minimum tensile strength at room temperature. Maximum test temperature of parts is 730 °C.

Study on the Optimization of Sealing Environment of Cylinder Head Gasket

2024-04-09
2024-01-2833
Typically, modern automotive engine designs include separate cylinder heads and cylinder blocks and utilize a multilayer steel head gasket (MLS) to seal the resulting joint. Cylinder head bolts are used to hold the joint together and the non-linear properties of head gasket provide capability to seal the movement within the joint, which is essential for engine durability and performance. The current design of cylinder head gasket mainly evaluates the sealing performance in hot and cold state through finite element analysis. The sealing performance of cylinder head gasket is mainly determined by sealing pressure, fatigue and lateral movement in the joint, which have been widely studied [1]. However, no one has been involved in the study of factors affecting sealing pressure and lateral movement in the joint.

As a key technology of intelligent transportation system, vehicle type recognition plays an important role in ensuring traffic safety, optimizing traffic management and improving traffic efficiency, which provides strong support for the development of modern society and the intelligent construction of traffic system. Aiming at the problems of large number of parameters, low detection efficiency and poor real-time performance in existing vehicle type recognition algorithms, this paper proposes an improved vehicle type recognition algorithm based on YOLOv5. Firstly, the lightweight network model MobileNet-V3 is used to replace the backbone feature extraction network CSPDarknet53 of the YOLOv5 model. The parameter quantity and computational complexity of the model are greatly reduced by replacing the standard convolution with the depthwise separable convolution, and enabled the model to maintain higher accuracy while having faster reasoning speed.

Elucidation of Sealing Mechanism of Novel Acrylate Liquid Based BluSealTM Wire Harness Splice Sealing Technology

2024-04-09
2024-01-2356
Unlike conventional heat shrink tubes or enclosure systems which only seals wires and splices on the outside, a novel Acrylate based sealing technology developed and introduced by Eurotech is a low viscosity fluid formulated to be applied to the splices either in liquid droplets or by dipping, utilizes fast capillary-wicking action and quick self-cure inside the wires to form a robust, cost effective, flexible, impenetrable seal to prevent moisture damage of wire harnesses and associated electrical components. This technology is an enabler of new wire harness architectures currently limited by the shortcomings of conventional sealing products such as heat shrink tubes which come up short when the splice configurations or geometries become too complex or difficult for sealing from the outside.

Research on Insulation Resistance Monitoring and Electrical Performance Evaluation into Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Considering Humidity and Heat Factors

2024-04-09
2024-01-2207
Focused on the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) used in electric, this paper proposes an online insulation testing method based on voltage injection under high-temperature and high-humidity conditions. The effect of constant humidity and temperature on the insulation performance has been also studied. Firstly, the high-voltage insulation structure and principle of PMSM are analyzed, while an electrical insulation testing method considered constant humidity and temperature is proposed. Finally, a temperature and humidity experimental cycling test is carried out on a certain prototype PMSM, taking heat conduction and radiation models, water vapor, and partial discharge into account. The results show that the electrical insulation performance of the motor under constant humidity and temperature operation environment exhibits a decreasing trend. This study can provide theoretical and practical references for the reliable durability design of PMSM.
