This is a three-day course which provides a comprehensive and up to date introduction to fuel cells for use in automotive engineering applications. It is intended for engineers and particularly engineering managers who want to jump‐start their understanding of this emerging technology and to enable them to engage in its development. Following a brief description of fuel cells and how they work, how they integrate and add value, and how hydrogen is produced, stored and distributed, the course will provide the status of the technology from fundamentals through to practical implementation.

This eLearning course focuses on Rockwell and Brinell hardness testing and Vickers and Knoop microhardness testing. Participants will learn about how the tests are performed, test sample requirements, test parameter selection, and testing requirements. The course can be completed in 30 minutes.

Metals and alloys have different melting ranges depending on their chemistry. High temperature metals are much harder at room temperature, have exceptionally high melting points (usually above 2000 degree Celsius), and are resistant to wear, corrosion and deformation. Turbocharging is an integral part of many internal combustion engine systems. While it has long been a key to diesel engine performance, turbocharging is increasingly seen as an enabler in meeting many of the efficiency and performance requirements of modern automotive gasoline engines. This replay discusses the basic concepts of turbocharging and air flow management of four-stroke engines. It explores the fundamentals of turbocharging, system design features, performance measures, and matching and selection criteria. Topics include spark ignition, diesel engine systems, and the impact of different applications.

This online course teaches about tensile testing of metals with a focus on how the testing is performed and tensile properties are measured. It includes one module followed by a quiz.
