Internal audits are a requirement of the AS9100, AS 13100 and RM 13005 and are intended to verify the compliance and effectiveness of an organization's quality management system. The methods and techniques for performing internal audits have significantly changed in the aviation, space and defense industries, and internal auditors must be knowledgeable of these requirements and the expectations as identified in the standard.

AS9131 - This standard defines the common nonconformance data definition and documentation that an internal or external supplier or sub-tier supplier must submit when informing a customer of a nonconformity. The requirements shall be are applicable for reporting a nonconforming product to the owner/operator (i.e., end item user), if specified by contract. Reporting of nonconformance data, either electronically or conventionally on paper, is subject to the terms and conditions of the contract. This also includes, where applicable, data access under export control regulations.

This document is based upon the SAE ARP5602 document, A Guideline for Aerospace Platform Fiber Optic Training and Awareness Education. ARINC Report 807: Fiber Optic Training Requirements is a subset of the SAE ARP5602 document designed to meet the requirements of the commercial air transport industry. Certification to the SAE ARP5602 document fulfills the requirements of ARINC Report 807. This document defines recommended general practices for training requirements of aerospace fiber optic systems. It is the intention of this document to outline proven training practices and general standards of workmanship for technicians engaged in aerospace fiber optic manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and repair for the air transport industry. It is also recommended that management and purchasing personnel receive fundamental training to familiarize themselves with the requirements of aerospace fiber optics.

In this presentation we will present a COTS solution for an ARINC 653 IMA based system. It will cover IMA concepts from an OS point of view and show how a platform can be built for application development. It will also cover DO-297, and how that can isolate applications for certification and test purposes and allow for easy configuration of multiple applications between different development teams. This document will address measures pertaining to and directly associated with the maintainability and reliability of FSTDs throughout their entire life cycle, from initial specification and design to de-commissioning. Although the primary emphasis of this document is on full flight simulators (with motion and visual systems), it should be applicable in part or total to all FSTDs.

This document provides guidance on provision of SATCE systems in Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTDs) for the benefit of flight crew training. This work builds upon that originally undertaken by International Air Transport Association (IATA) Flight Simulator Working Group in 2002, and further developed in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Doc. 9625 Vol 1, Part 2, Editions 3 and 4. This document is intended to be a practical starting point that can serve as the basis for future developments of SATCE.

Abstract The use of simulation is a long-standing industry standard at every level of flight training. Historically, given the acquisition and maintenance costs associated with such equipment, full-motion devices have been reserved for advanced corporate and airline training programs. The Motion Cueing Seat (MCS) is a relatively inexpensive alternative to full-motion flight simulators and has the potential to enhance the fixed-base flight simulation in primary flight training. In this article, we discuss the results of an evaluation of the effect of motion cueing on pilot workload and performance during primary instrument training. Twenty flight students and instructors from a collegiate flight training program participated in the study. Each participant performed three runs of a basic circuit using a fixed-base Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD) and an MCS.
