VHDL-AMS Statistical Analysis Packages

2006-10-23
CURRENT
J2748_200610
This document specifies the interface and the behavior of the VHDL-AMS packages for use in modeling statistical behavior. These packages are useful in defining the statistical variation of parameters of electrical, electronic, and mechatronic components and sub-systems. These can then be used with simulation tools to analyze the performance and reliability of systems composed of these components and sub-systems. Providing a standard definition of the package interfaces and their behavior is intended to facilitate the exchange of models between component and system manufacturers and the use of different CAE simulation tools. The SAE statistical package supports the statistical modeling of design parameters subject to tolerances for designs described using the VHDL or VHDL-AMS languages.

PMODE for In-Vehicle Networks

2001-12-19
CURRENT
J2590_200112
This SAE Recommended Practice describes the power mode requirements for in-vehicle networks that conform to the Automotive Multimedia Interface Collaboration (AMI-C) specifications. These networks include, but are not limited to, the IDB-C (SAE J2366), IDB-1394, and MOST. This version of the document covers primarily IDB-C and may be revised when the PMODE requirements for the other networks are more fully developed by AMI-C.

DUAL DIMENSIONING

1982-06-01
HISTORICAL
J390_198206
This document covers a dual dimensioning practice that provides both U.S. customary inch-pound units and SI metric units for all dimensions on the field of the drawing. The scope does not include the “chart method”—whereby drawings are dimensioned only in SI units—with conversions to inch-pound units provided in chart form (usually computer-generated) on the drawing. Further information on the chart method is found in SAE Handbook Supplement J1066, “Recommended Guidelines for Company Metrication Programs in the Metalworking Industry.”

Recommended Practice for Determining Material Properties of Li-Battery Cathode Active Materials

2021-05-28
CURRENT
J3021_202105
This SAE Recommended Practice provides a set of test methods and practices for the characterization of lithium ion battery cathode active material. It is beyond the scope of this document to establish criteria for the test results, as these are usually established between the vendor and customer. It should be noted that materials properties can vary substantially between classes of materials (e.g., LNO and LFP) and caution should be exercised when attempting to directly compare their chemical and physical properties. While these distinctions are important for the manufacturer, this document focuses on the techniques to measure the materials properties and not their absolute or relative values. Future materials such as solid-state batteries and sulfides are beyond the scope of this document.

Measurement of Interior Sound Levels of Light Vehicles

2018-05-24
WIP
J1477
This SAE Recommended Practice establishes the test procedure, environment, instrumentation, and data analyses for comparing interior sound level of passenger cars, multipurpose vehicles, and light trucks having gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 4540 kg (10 000 lb) or less. The test procedure is characterized by having fixed initial conditions (specified initial vehicle speed and gear selection at the starting point on the test site) to obtain vehicle interior sound measurement during road load operation over various road surfaces at specified constant speeds. The measurement data so derived is useful for vehicle engineering development and analysis.

SAE NODAL MOUNT

1992-02-01
HISTORICAL
J1134_199202
This SAE Recommended Practice establishes a single bolt pattern for the No. 1 clutch housing (see Figure 1) and the No. 2 clutch housing (see Figure 2). These four bolt patterns are designated to give commonality of mounting brackets in existing frame rails. The 420 mm (16.5 in) span, pad face to pad face, allows the ease of installation in existing frame rail widths. This is also the minimum spacing which will accommodate commonly used clutches.
