Tolerances, Metric Low-Alloy Steel Sheet, Strip, and Plate

2003-03-12
HISTORICAL
MAM2252B
This specification covers established metric manufacturing tolerances applicable to low-alloy steel sheet, strip, and plate ordered to metric dimensions. These tolerances apply to all conditions unless otherwise noted. The term “excl” is used to apply only to the higher figure of the specified range.

HEAT TREATMENT Carbon, Low-Alloy, and Specialty Steels

1976-01-01
HISTORICAL
AMS2760
This specification covers the procedure for through-hardening and related heat treatments of carbon, low-alloy, and specialty steel parts to produce specified mechanical properties within the capability of each respective steel.

Steel Cleanliness, Special Aircraft-Quality Magnetic Particle Inspection Procedure

2015-05-21
HISTORICAL
AMS2304B
This specification covers steel cleanliness requirements in inch/pound units for special aircraft-quality ferromagnetic steels, including hardenable corrosion resistant steels, by magnetic particle inspection methods. This specification contains sampling, sample preparation, inspection procedures and cleanliness rating criteria (See 8.2).

Magnetic Particle Acceptance Criteria for Parts

2001-12-07
HISTORICAL
AMS2442
This specification establishes acceptance criteria for discontinuities revealed by magnetic particle inspection of parts made from wrought, ferromagnetic materials.

PREMIUM AIRCRAFT-QUALITY STEEL CLEANLINESS Magnetic Particle Inspection Procedure

1973-05-01
HISTORICAL
AMS2300B
This specification covers sampling and testing procedures to determine conformance of premium aircraft-quality ferromagnetic steels to cleanliness requirements of material specifications in which this specification is referenced. Applicable primarily to blooms, billets, extrusions, tube rounds, stock for forgings and rings, bars, and heavy wall tubing used in the fabrication of highly stressed parts and assemblies where very rigid magnetic particle standards are used in the final inspection of such parts.

Heat Treatment of Carbon and Low-Alloy Steel Parts Minimum Tensile Strength Below 220 ksi (1517 MPa)

2021-08-03
CURRENT
AMS2759/1J
This specification, in conjunction with the general requirements for steel heat treatment covered in AMS2759, establishes the requirements for heat treatment of carbon and low-alloy steel parts to minimum ultimate tensile strengths below 220 ksi (1517 MPa). Parts are defined in AMS2759. Due to limited hardenability in these materials, there are size limits in this specification.
