Aircraft Cargo Door Opening/Sill Details for Ground Support Equipment Interface

2020-11-23
CURRENT
AIR1673B
Manufacturers/designers of all aircraft equipped with a pallet/container capability have provided a means of linking the ground loaders/elevators with the aircraft sill for the smoother transfer of pallets and containers into or out of the aircraft holds. Use of the aircraft attachment points may be used as a means of averting damage to the aircraft door frames and other important parts. Latch-on guarantees fore and aft and vertical alignment of the loader bed with the aircraft doorway, when used in conjunction with the appropriate ground equipment. This SAE Aerospace Information Report (AIR) has been prepared by SAE Subcommittee AGE-2A to present a review of the current range of aircraft attachment points on wide body aircraft and those narrow body aircraft with a ULD cargo capability. Airline operators, who utilized these facilities, have been faced with a growing number of adaptor bars necessary to suit each type of aircraft and door position.

Fire Containment Cover - Operation and Use

2020-04-23
CURRENT
ARP6905
This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) provides guidelines for the effective operation and use of fire containment covers (FCCs). Technical Standard Orders (TSOs) C203 and C90e (and later revisions) incorporate AS6453, and provide the Minimum Performance Standards (MPS) for an FCC design. The net and pallet used with the FCC must be approved using the updated net and flammability requirements in TSO C90e and later revisions. However, fire containment performance also requires this equipment is properly used. Fire safety is compromised when FCCs are used in an inadequate manner.

GROUND EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPATIBILITY WITH AIRCRAFT UNIT LOAD DEVICES

1984-10-01
HISTORICAL
ARP1334A
Included in this document are requirements for conveyor systems, guides, stops, restraint hardware that are used on trucks, transporters, dollies, storage provisions, pallet build-up hoists, or other device-handling equipment. These requirements reflect state of the art criteria applied to known successfully operated hardware. Any design deviations shall be required to demonstrate equivalency to this specification criteria.

HISTORICAL
ARP1334
Included in this document are requirements for conveyor systems, guides, stops, restraint hardware that are used on trucks, transporters, dollies, storage provisions, pallet build-up hoists, or other device-handling equipment. a) These requirements reflect state of the art criteria applied to known successfully operated hardware. Any design deviations shall be required to demonstrate equivalency to this specification criteria. b) These devices usually form an integral part of the aircraft and as such are subject to regulatory agencies' requirements to assure structural integrity.

Air Mode Active Containers Conditioning Performance

2010-11-15
CURRENT
ARP5741
This Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) defines a series of test procedures to determine the temperature conditioning performance of air mode containers with active conditioning systems, a classification system for air mode containers with active condition systems, a standard means of expressing conditioning performance within each classification and a standard means of documenting test results.

Cargo Stopper Devices

2022-10-13
CURRENT
AS6554A
The purpose of this SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) is to standardize the basic design, performance, and testing requirements for “Cargo Stoppers” cargo tie-down accessories to be used in conjunction with approved restraint straps meeting AS5385C (TSO C-172) requirements.

Interline Air Cargo Pallets

2023-01-13
CURRENT
AS1491B
This SAE Aerospace Standard specifies the dimensional, design criteria, fabrication, performance, operational, environmental, and testing requirements for interline pallets requiring airworthiness approval for loading onto civil transport aircraft equipped with NAS3610/AS36100 restraint systems and using pallet nets meeting the requirements of AS1492. Type II/2 covers NAS3610/AS36100 code sizes. Type III pallets have been removed from this SAE Aerospace Standard revision.

Vehicle Transport Unit Load Device (ULD)

2020-11-30
CURRENT
ARP1554D
The tests are static in nature to minimize complexity and cost of required testing facilities. As far as practical, applied static loads should take into account the combined static and dynamic loads anticipated in service. It is intended that tests shall be non-destructive in nature and not result in damage unless ultimate load conditions are employed. Test equipment and methods of testing described are not meant to be restrictive. Alternate equivalent methods to accomplish the desired results may be employed. In selected cases, tests may be repeated under ultimate load conditions when required for substantiation of analytical data. If this becomes necessary, the parts deformed may be removed and replaced prior to the retest.

Fire Containment Cover - Design, Performance, and Testing Requirements

2021-12-13
CURRENT
AS6453A
This SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) specifies the minimum design and performance criteria and testing methods of fire containment covers (FCCs) used either: a In those cargo compartments of civil transport aircraft where they constitute one means of complying with applicable airworthiness regulations, or b On a voluntary basis, when deemed appropriate by operators to improve fire protection in aircraft cargo compartments where airworthiness regulations do not mandate their use.
