Hydraulic Control of Integrated Electronic Hydraulic Brake System based on Command Feed-Forward

2016-04-05
2016-01-1658
With the development of vehicle electrification, electronic hydraulic brake system is gradually applied. Many companies have introduced products related to integrated electronic hydraulic brake system (I-EHB). In this paper, an I-EHB system is introduced, which uses the motor to drive the reduction mechanism as a power source for braking. The reduction mechanism is composed of a turbine, a worm, a gear and a rack. A control method based on command feed-forward is proposed to improve the hydraulic pressure control of I-EHB. Based on previous research, we simplify the system to first order system, and the theoretical design of the command feed-forward compensator is carried out. The feed-forward controller is applied, including the velocity feed-forward and the acceleration feed-forward, to improve the response speed and tracking effect of the system.

A Safety Analysis and Verification Framework for Autonomous Vehicles Based on the Identification of Triggering Events

For high-level autonomous vehicles, under many circumstances, accidents are not caused by functional failures, but by system performance limitations and human misuses. ISO 21448 defines this kind of safety issue as safety of the intended functionality (SOTIF). However, most of SOTIF-related researches focus on hazard identification and risk evaluation, as well as verification and validation. There is still lack of public systematic identification method for triggering events. Therefore, this paper proposes an identification framework for triggering events which are related to system performance limitations and human misuses. In the aspect of system performance limitations, there are four steps, which are the specification of the research target, the analysis of influencing factors, the identification of triggering events, and the verification test. In the aspect of human misuses, triggering events can be identified based on the guide words for human error.

A New Positioning Device Designed for Aircraft Automated Alignment System

2019-01-1883
Accurate and fast positioning of large aircraft component is of great importance for Automated Alignment System. The Ball joint is a widely-used mechanical device connecting the aircraft component and positioners. However, there are some shortcomings for the device in man-machine engineering, such as the entry state of the ball-head still needs to be confirmed by the workers and then switched to the locking state manually. To solve above problems, a new positioning mechanism is present in this paper, which consists of a ball-head and a ball-socket. The new device is equipped with a monocular vision system, in which a calibrated industrial camera is used to collect the images of the ball-head. And then, the 3-D coordinate of the ball-head center is calculated by a designed algorithm, guiding the positioner to capture the ball-head. Once the ball-head gets into the ball-socket, the pneumatic system will drive the pistons to move to the specified location.

Function-Driven Generation Method for Continuous Scenarios of Autonomous Vehicles

The scenario-based test method is now drawing more and more attention in the field of the test for autonomous vehicles. The predefined scenarios are used in the safety verification and performance evaluation of autonomous vehicles. However, the traditional generation method for predefined scenarios is parameterized and open-looped, which makes it challenging to generate diverse and complex scenarios. It is critical when testing high-level autonomous vehicles to verify their reliability in multiple behavior transitions. In this paper, a generation method for the continuous scenario is proposed to realize a function-driven iteration of scenarios for autonomous driving systems (ADS). The method consists of a functional model of ADS and a formal description of abstract scenario.

Performance Limitations Analysis of Visual Sensors in Low Light Conditions Based on Field Test

2022-01-7086
Visual sensors are widely used in autonomous vehicles (AVs) for object detection due to the advantages of abundant information and low-cost. But the performance of visual sensors is highly affected by low light conditions when AVs driving at nighttime and in the tunnel. The low light conditions decrease the image quality and the performance of object detection, and may cause safety of the intended functionality (SOTIF) problems. Therefore, to analyze the performance limitations of visual sensors in low light conditions, a controlled light experiment on a proving ground is designed. The influences of low light conditions on the two-stage algorithm and the single-stage algorithm are compared and analyzed quantificationally by constructing an evaluation index set from three aspects of missing detection, classification, and positioning accuracy.
