Semi-Active Vibration Control of Landing Gear Using Magneto-Rhelological Dampers

2011-10-18
2011-01-2583
Magneto-rhelological(MR) dampers are devices that use rheological fluids to modify the mechanical properties of fluid absorber. The mechanical simplicity, high dynamic range, large force capacity, lower power requirements, robustness and safe manner of operation have made MR dampers attractive devices for semi-active real-time control in civil, aerospace and automotive applications. Landing gear is one of the most essential components of the aircraft, which plays an extreme important role in preventing the airframe from vibration and excessive impact forces, improving passenger comfortable characteristics and increasing aircraft flight safety. In this paper, the semi-active system used in landing gear damping controller design, simulation, and the vibration test-bed are discussed and researched. The MR dampers employed in landing gear system were designed, manufactured and characterized as available semi-active actuators.

Torsional vibration of drive shaft has great influence on the vibration of vehicle. Reasonable phase arrangement of multi-universal coupling can attenuate vibration. In this paper, theoretical model of drive shaft with planar multi-cross universal coupling was established; the optimization scheme of the phase arrangement of multi-cross universal coupling was presented. The results of test validation and simulation show that the optimization scheme is effective and reasonable. The results of test validation and simulation show that the optimization scheme was effective and reasonable and the optimized scheme could solve the abnormal vibration on floor. Arranging phases of universal joints reasonably is very significative for attenuate the torsional vibration of drive shaft and the floor vibration.

2015-01-0026
In order to improve the handling and stability of a light bus at high speed, a virtual model was established in Adams-Car and its anti-roll bar and bushing parameters were virtually optimized. The tyre mechanical characteristics were firstly tested by using a plate-type tyre tester and the Magic Formula parameters of the tyre were obtained. Then the virtual bus model's handling performance were studied by the simulation of central steering test and steady static circular test. An optimal matching method was put forward. By using genetic algorithm to conduct optimization, the optimised parameters were obtained. After that the anti-roll bar and bushing samples were respectively manufactured. At last, the comparative trials were performed in an automotive proving ground, and the subjective evaluation of the light bus's handling and stability was taken by three specialized assessors.

In order to reasonably match the variable stiffness suspension and optimize the ride comfort and stability of a light bus, a virtual prototype model of the light bus was established in Adams-Car. Before the optimization, the tyre mechanical characteristics were tested by using a plate-type tyre tester, then the magic formula model of the tyre (Pac2002) was obtained by means of the global parameter identification method. The vertical vibration of the virtual model was simulated with the simulated B-class road profile, and its handling stability performance was also studied by simulation of the pylon course slalom test and steady static circular test. After that, an optimal method of the variable stiffness suspension was put forward. In the proposed method, the two-level stiffness (k1, k2) and the damping of the rear suspension and the torsional stiffness of the pre and post stabilizer bars were taken as the optimal variables.

2014-01-2866
In order to improve structure and performance of magneto-rheological dual mass flywheel (MRF-DMF), some parameters effects on dynamic characteristics are acquired by parameters analysis. The dynamic stiffness and loss angle in different current and different frequency are gained through dynamic characteristic test. The fluid-structure interaction finite element model of MRF-DMF is built and the accuracy is verified by comparison between test and simulation. Based on the model, the parameters analysis is done and the law of MRF viscosity, arc spring stiffness, working clearance, rotor radius and axial width effect on dynamic characteristics are gained, it will prove some guidance for the structure and performance improvement.
