2020-09-15
2020-01-2031
This article deals with the features of the thermal preparation system application on automobile engine, the heating of which to operating temperatures is carried out on petrol, and subsequent operation on liquefied petroleum gas. The main element of the heat treatment system is a phase-transfer heat accumulator, the task of which is to minimize the engine warm-up time and, therefore, reduce petrol consumption on warm-up modes. An information system has been developed (is being used) for remote monitoring and control of the thermal preparation processes of an engine with a thermal accumulator. The results of experimental studies on a passenger vehicle engine under various operating conditions have confirmed the effectiveness of using a phase-transfer heat accumulator to reduce the heating time of the coolant and reduce the consumption of petrol to warm up the engine.

Development of a Simulation Model of a System for Automatic Regulation of the Capacity of a Compressor Unit

2022-03-30
2022-01-5022
The existing compressor plants at railroad marshalling yards (MYs) are equipped with automatic compressed air supply control systems. However, this is implemented using outdated and ineffective methods. Taking into account the current trends in the field of three-phase motor control, as well as the requirements for energy saving, the most effective is the frequency regulation of performance. The work provides a justification for the need to use a variable frequency drive of a compressor unit (CU). A mathematical model has been developed for controlling an asynchronous motor (AM), taking into account the setting coefficient of performance. As a result, a computer simulation model for controlling the drive motor of a reciprocating compressor at an MY has been proposed and tested. The diagrams and values obtained made it possible to study in detail the automatic control system of the drive and select the optimal control laws for the frequency-controlled unit.

Improvement of Production Processes of the Marshalling Yard in Terms of Automatic Power Control of the Compressor Station

2022-01-5063
The implementation of resource-saving technologies at marshalling yards (MYs) is an urgent task. Taking into account that the main consumer of electricity at the MY is the compressor unit (CU), the solution, first, should be concentrated, on it. An analysis of the operation of modern control systems of the CU, as well as theoretical studies in this field, showed that the cost of electricity at the station is tightly connected with the technological work on it, as well as to the weather conditions in the region. This work proposes to establish the connection of these factors with the energy costs at the MY and to develop a compressor control model. In our publication, we carried out an analysis of external factors, which affect the operation of the compressor plant at the MY.

Development of a Multifactor Model for Determining Energy Costs at a Compressor Station

2022-01-5079
It is a known fact that the existing compressor stations on the sorting humps of the railways have significant overconsumption of electricity. First, this is due to the lack of automatic regulation of the compressed air capacity, which takes into account the technological processes at the station and the weather conditions within this section. In order to solve this problem, as a first approximation, it is necessary to analyze all the factors affecting the energy consumption of the compressor station and develop a mathematical model, which will link these indicators. In this work, a correlation analysis of the weather-related factors and specifics of the technological process (breaking up of the train), which affect the energy consumption of the compressor unit (CU), is carried out. Based on the analysis, there was a strong correlation between the factors described and the power consumption at the station. A regression model was developed.

Development of the Structure for the Technical Implementation of the Modernized System for Automatic Regulation of the Capacity of the Compressor Unit at the Marshalling Yard

The article presents the results of the development and technical implementation of the automatic modernized system for the control of the compressor unit power at the existing marshalling yard. Existing compressor stations on railroad marshalling yards are equipped with automatic compressed air capacity control systems. Their operability and functioning ensured by traditional methods with a set of typical operations: starting/stopping the engine, connecting an additional “dead volume,” switching the compressor unit to idle and throttling. Taking into account the peculiarities of the technological process of work at the station and the hump, as well as modern requirements for energy saving in transport, the known control methods seem to be outdated and ineffective. In addition, these control methods do not exclude transient surges of currents and voltages, which significantly reduces the service life of compressor units.

Application of Combined Electric Arc Coatings for Parts and Units of Vehicles Recovery in Repair Technologies

2021-10-15
2021-01-5100
This paper is devoted to the methods of increasing wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and service life of parts and assemblies of vehicles during their strengthening and renovation by the use of combined electric arc spraying (EAS) coatings. High density, adhesion, and microhardness of EAS coatings are provided by activation of the spraying process and subsequent nitriding of the sprayed coatings. This study is about the influence of technological parameters of the spraying process—composition, diameter and feed rate of sprayed wires, arc power, spray gas flow rate, spraying distance, speed of spraying spot movement, dispersion of spraying, etc.—on the qualitative characteristics of EAS coatings. The possibility of using pulsed ion nitriding (PIN) to improve the operational characteristics of EAS coatings made of wire materials is considered.

Assessment of the Influence of Braking Devices over the Stability of Braking Properties of the Vehicles

2020-01-5163
The paper is devoted to the study of the influence of braking devices over the stability of braking properties of the cars. A technique is proposed for assessing the stability of braking devices using the generalized braking torque equation, which allows the selection of a rational type of braking devices and optimization of the geometric parameters thereof at the design stage of the cars. Stability assessment of the braking torque is carried out according to the criterion of the sensitivity of the braking torque to a change in the coefficient of friction between the friction surfaces of the braking mechanism. Using the dimensionless functions and coefficients depending on the geometric parameters of the friction pairs and the feedback sign in the braking mechanism, it was found that the braking mechanism with one active and one passive pad has less sensitivity to a change in the friction coefficient than the braking mechanism with two active pads.

Energy Approach to the Formation of Braking Properties of Vehicles

2020-11-11
2020-01-5115
The study aims to evaluate the energy-transforming properties of the braking control of vehicles (cars). The article presents the functions that are an integral indicator characterizing the conversion of energy in braking mechanisms and braking system as a whole during single braking. Representation of these functions in a differential form allows a quantitative assessment of energy conversion at any given time. Taking into account the changes in the kinetic energy of a vehicle during braking and the work spent on turning on the braking mechanisms, the equation of the energy transfer function for the braking mechanism of the jth axis during single braking is obtained. The dependence diagrams of the energy transfer function in differential form for disk braking mechanisms of a passenger car of segment C and drum braking mechanisms of cars with a total mass of 11 tons and 20 tons are presented.

Digital Profiles of Work Processes of a Marine Engine for Calculated Indicator Diagrams in Operating Modes Other than Maximum Continuous Rating

2023-01-5008
Obtaining and analyzing indicator diagrams are mandatory procedures stipulated by the technical operating rules for most types of marine engines. For this purpose a whole arsenal of mechanical and electronic indicating devices of periodic or continuous action is created. Information on the results of engine indications in bench tests are usually provided by the manufacturer in the form of bitmaps. This complicates the process of using them as reference diagrams necessary for comparison with real diagrams obtained during operation using electronic diagnostic systems. Changes in approaches to logistics operations in maritime transport have imposed a number of limitations, narrowing the use of indicator methods. The tendency to reduce the commercial speed of ships makes it impossible to take indicator diagrams on the specified modes of operation. As a result, the effectiveness of using indicator diagrams for assessing the current technical condition is drastically reduced.
