Distributed Control as a Tool for Development and Upgrade of Engine Test Rooms Instrumentation

This paper describes new techniques of networked intelligent distributed control applied to the development and upgrade of engine test room instrumentation. The study covers the aspects related to handling of remote sensor information, malfunction detection and correction, etc. Aspects related to the practical implementation covering the network, the required hardware and standardized development methodologies are also mentioned.
