Tire Size Differential - Articulated Wheel Loader

2019-11-20
CURRENT
J2204_201911
This SAE Standard applies to the usage of tires of the same nominal size and tread type, but with different outside diameter for articulated front-end loaders. Articulated four-wheel-drive front-end loader performance and component life can be affected by excessive differences in the tire outside circumference and/or diameter. The purpose is to provide specific guidelines for the usage of tires with different outside circumference and/or diameter on articulated front-end loaders.

General Environmental Considerations for Marine Vehicles

2014-02-04
WIP
J1777
This Hydrospace Information Report (HIR) identifies the general environmental considerations for the design, development, evaluation, and testing of advanced surface craft, submersible vehicles, and other marine craft. This HIR provides criteria on the environmental limits within which marine vehicles, related components, and associated equipment should operate satisfactorily and reliably. This HIR is intended for use as a guide for the development of specific environmental requirements to be included in detailed specifications for marine vehicles and associated equipment. Specific requirements are in a state of continual change as our knowledge of the ocean environment increases. The ocean environment varies with location and time. Changes in the ocean environment can occur not only on a seasonal basis but also monthly, weekly, daily, and in some cases even hourly.

Nomenclature and Specification Definitions--Dozers

2002-02-21
CURRENT
J729_200202
This standard provides the names of major components of dozers which include a blade and all associated structural elements, normally mounted in front of a self-propelled machine for scraping and pushing materials through forward motion of the machine. It also includes dimensional specification definitions applicable to dozers. This standard is applicable to dozers which are commonly used on crawler and wheel tractors as defined in SAE J1057.

Dimension Compatibility for Commercial Vehicle Wheels to Air Disc Brake Calipers - Truck and Bus

2020-06-05
CURRENT
J2803_202006
This SAE Recommended Practice defines the boundary line for establishing dimensional compatibility between air disc brake calipers and 22.5 x 8.25 inch disc wheels, including bent valve stems on steel wheels and manufacturer recommended valve stems on aluminum wheels. The line establishes the minimum wheel with valve stem envelope to allow interchangeability. The line does not accommodate customer-specific wheels (such as OEM-specific stylized wheels) or customer-specific brakes. This document addresses dimensional characteristics only and makes no reference to the performance, operational dynamic deflections or heat dissipation of the system. It is up to the system integrator to ensure sufficient clearance exists between the caliper, wheel and valve stem to provide safe operating conditions. Mounting systems as noted are referenced in SAE J694.

Measurement of Whole Body Vibration of the Seated Operator of Off-Highway Work Machines

2007-11-20
CURRENT
J1013_200711
This SAE Standard defines a method for the measurement of the whole body vibration to which the seated operator of off-highway self-propelled work machines is exposed while performing an actual or simulated operation. It applies to vibration transmitted to the operator through the seat. There are not equivalent ISO Standards. In the main body of this document, conditions are defined for measuring and recording whole body vibration of the seated operator of off-highway self-propelled work machines. The specification of instruments, analytic methods, and description of site and operating conditions allows the measurements to be made and reported with an acceptable precision. The procedure includes means of weighing the vibration level at different frequencies as specified in ISO2631. A standard format for reporting spectral data is recommended. The definitions, instruments, and analytic methods also apply to simulated tests for operator vibration as performed in laboratories.
