13-Conductor Electrical Cable between Towing Vehicle and Trailer

2022-06-15
WIP
J3284
This SAE standard establishes the minimum construction and performance requirements for a combination cable consisting of 9 conductors and 2 twisted pairs for use on trucks, trailers, and dollies. The cable includes power, ground and 2 jacketed/unshielded twisted paired signal circuits. This standard will be used in conjunction with the SAEJ XXXX “13 Conductor Electrical Connector (Plug and Receptacle) between Towing Vehicle and Trailer”. The standard will also include the test procedures, design and performance requirements for the cable.

A Guide for the Damaging Effects of Tire and Wheel Failures

2022-07-06
CURRENT
AIR5699A
Consideration for the damaging effects to aircraft from the failure of wheels and tires should be evaluated. This document discusses the types of problems in-service aircraft have experienced and methodology in place to assist the designers when evaluating threats for new aircraft design. The purpose of this document is to provide a history of in-service problems, provide a historical summary of the design improvements made to wheels and tires during the past 40 years, and to offer methodology which has been used to help designers assess the threat to ensure the functionality of systems and equipment located in and around the landing gear and in wheel wells.

AEROSPACE - DEICING/ANTI-ICING SELF-PROPELLED VEHICLE FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS

1994-10-01
HISTORICAL
ARP4806
This document specifies the general functional and performance requirements for a self-propelled, boom type aerial device equipped with an aircraft deicing/anti-icing fluid (ADF) spraying system. The unit shall be highly maneuverable for deicing and anti-icing all exterior surfaces of wide-body and narrow-body aircraft, e.g., B747 and DC9. The vehicle shall be suitable for day and night operations. The vehicle and all associated systems shall operate satisfactorily under the temperature conditions between -40 and 50 °C (-40 and 122 °F) and in continuous humidity of up to 100%. It is not within the scope of this document to specify a comprehensive set of technical design criteria for aircraft deicing/anti-icing vehicles but only those relating to functional and performance requirements.

AIRCRAFT DAMAGE CAUSED BY GROUND SUPPORT EQUIPMENT

1992-12-01
HISTORICAL
AIR1589
This AIR examines only those incidents which were caused by ground support equipment used for aircraft handling and servicing and for line maintenance. It does not include damage that occurred during heavy maintenance or overhaul activity, taxi incidents or accidents where an aircraft under tow collided with a piece of GSE.

AIRCRAFT ENGINE TRANSPORT DEVICES

1992-12-01
HISTORICAL
ARP1840
The tests are static in nature to minimize complexity and cost of required testing facilities. As far as practical, applied static loads should take into account the combined static and dynamic loads anticipated in service.

AIRCRAFT TIRE CONDITION MONITORING SYSTEMS

2009-11-30
HISTORICAL
AIR4830
The intent of this SAE Aerospace Information Report (AIR) is to inform the aerospace industry about various systems available to monitor the inflation pressure or temperature of an aircraft tire. The tire pressure indicating system (TPIS), with cockpit display, is the most widely used of all aircraft tire monitoring systems, and is detailed in this document more than other systems.
