Agricultural Tractor Test Code

1999-09-01
HISTORICAL
J708_199902
The purpose of this SAE Standard is to define test conditions, give a description of the tests to be made, specify data to be obtained, show formulas and calculations, define terms, and establish a uniform method of reporting so that performance data obtained on various makes and models of tractors, tested in accordance with this document, will be comparable regardless of where the test is made. It is obvious, because of the many present day tractor models available in a number of types with numerous items of special or optional equipment, that the scope of this document must be limited to obtaining and reporting only the most significant of widely used performance data.

Air Brake Valve Input-Output Characteristic Requirements

2016-06-17
CURRENT
J1861_201606
This SAE Recommended Practice establishes minimum tolerance requirements for pilot operated and mechanically actuated modulating type valves, and through type valves used in the service brake control system when tested in accordance with the test procedure outlined in SAE J1859. This document applies to the nominal input-output characteristics as specified by vehicle original equipment manufacturer and labeled by the valve manufacturer as outlined in SAE J1860. The tolerance requirements will include: a Crack (opening) pressure or force. Crack pressure may be measured at the initial output pressure or as the pressure differential before output pressure exceeds 14 kPa (2 psi). Crack force may be measured at initial output pressure or before output pressure exceeds 14 kPa (2 psi). b Pressure differential (input-output)

Ambulance Litter Integrity, Retention, and Patient Restraint

2022-06-21
CURRENT
J3027_202206
This SAE Recommended Practice describes the testing procedures required to evaluate the integrity of a ground ambulance-based patient litter, litter retention system, and patient restraint when exposed to a frontal, side or rear impact. Its purpose is to provide litter manufacturers, ambulance builders, and end-users with testing procedures and, where appropriate, acceptance criteria that, to a great extent ensures the patient litter, litter retention system, and patient restraint utilizes a similar dynamic performance test methodology to that which is applied to other vehicle seating and occupant restraint systems. Descriptions of the test set-up, test instrumentation, photographic/video coverage, test fixture, and performance metrics are included.
