CAPACITY RATING - SCRAPER, OPEN BOWL

1985-01-01
HISTORICAL
J741_198501
This standard applies to Open Bowl Scrapers, as defined in SAE J728 and J1057. It is similar to ISO/DIS 6485.
Standard

CAPACITY RATING—DOZER BLADES

1988-03-01
HISTORICAL
J1265_198803
This standard applies only to straight, angling, semi-U, and U-blades for crawler and wheel tractors. It applies to angling blades only in the straight (not angled) position.
Standard

CAPACITY RATING—ELEVATING SCRAPERS

1993-06-01
HISTORICAL
J957_199306
This SAE Standard specifies a procedure for approximating the volume of a typical material carried in the bowl of an elevating scraper as defined in SAE J728 and SAE J1057. The volumes are based on the inside dimensions of the bowl and a representative volume on top of the bowl. This rating method is intended to provide a consistent means of comparing capacities; it is not intended to define actual capacities that might be observed in any specific application.
Standard

CAPACITY RATING—LOADER BUCKET

1985-02-01
HISTORICAL
J742_198502
This standard applies to buckets of loaders (as defined by SAE J1057a, Identification Terminology of Earthmoving machines).
Standard

CAPACITY RATING—SCRAPER, OPEN BOWL

1993-06-01
HISTORICAL
J741_199306
This SAE Standard specifies a procedure for approximating the volume of typical materials contained in the bowl of Open Bowl scrapers as defined in SAE J728 and SAE J1057. The volumes are based on the inside dimensions of the bowl and representative volumes on top of the bowl. This rating method is intended to provide a consistent means of comparing capacities; it is not intended to define actual capacities that might be observed in any specific application.

COMPONENT NOMENCLATURE—GRADERS

1990-07-30
HISTORICAL
J870_199007
This SAE Standard provides names of major components peculiar to graders as defined in SAE J1057 (See Figure 1). Illustrations of components are not intended to be exactly descriptive of any particular machine.
Standard

COMPONENT NOMENCLATURE—LOADER

1985-02-01
HISTORICAL
J731_198502
This standard includes names of major components and parts peculiar to this type machine. The illustrations are descriptive of the principles and are not intended to include all existing commercial machines. [Refer to SAE J1057 JUL73)—Identification Terminology of Earthmoving Machines for machine type.]
Standard

COMPONENT NOMENCLATURE—SCRAPERS

1990-07-01
HISTORICAL
J728_199007
This SAE Standard provides names of major components peculiar to the scraper portion of tractor-scrapers. Reference SAE J1057. Illustrations of components are not intended to be exactly descriptive of any particular machine.
Standard

CUTTING EDGE—CURVED GRADER

1991-06-01
HISTORICAL
J739_199106
This SAE Standard is intended for curved cutting edge sections used on graders as defined in SAE J870 and J1057. (See Figure 1 and Table 1.) Hole conformation is further defined in SAE J740 and J1580.
Standard

Cutting Edge - Double Bevel Cross Sections

2020-01-15
CURRENT
J738_202001
This standard is for cutting edge sections typically used in earth-moving machinery defined in SAE J1116 and ISO 6165: a Scrapers as defined in ISO 7133. b Dozers as described in ISO 6747. c Loaders as described in ISO 7131. d Graders as described in ISO 7134. Hole spacing is defined ISO 7129. Hole conformation is defined in SAE J740.
Standard

Earthmoving Machinery—Coupling of Attachments to Skid Steer Loaders

2000-06-28
HISTORICAL
J2513_200006
This SAE Standard sets forth standard dimension requirements for the loader attachment bracket and attachment interface to allow interchangeability of attachments on skid steer loaders whose operating mass (see SAE J/ISO 6165) is 4,500 kg or less. Narrow skid steer loaders may have a width that does not allow compliance with this standard. The design of the loader attachment bracket locking system is not restricted by this standard and is left to the discretion of the manufacturer.
Standard

HOLE SPACING FOR SCRAPER AND DOZER CUTTING EDGES

1989-08-01
HISTORICAL
J737_198908
This standard is intended for cutting edge sections used on: a Tractor-scrapers as described in SAE J1057 and J728. b Dozers as described in SAE J729. These cutting edges are further defined in SAE J738 for cross section and SAE J740 and J1580 for hole conformation.

Hydraulic Excavator Operator Controls

2019-06-06
CURRENT
J1177_201906
This standard covers mobile hydraulic excavator controls and the specific arrangement and direction of motion for the primary controls. This standard applies to mobile hydraulic excavators as described in ISO 7135—Earthmoving machinery—Hydraulic excavators—Terminology and commercial specifications, and ISO 6165—Earthmoving machinery—Basic types—Vocabulary.

IDENTIFICATION TERMINOLOGY—PIPELAYERS

1980-06-01
HISTORICAL
J1295_198006
This standard applies to machines which are designed to raise, lower, and carry pipe and loads of similar nature. The term pipelayer does not include tractors or loaders with side booms which are optional attachments, manufacturer or dealer-installed, to machines as defined in SAE J1057. Note: Some related standards will apply equally to pipelayers and to tractors and loaders with side boom. Two such standards are SAE J743 and ANSI B30.14.
