AEROSPACE INFORMATION REPORT FOR CONTINUOUS FLOW OXYGEN HOSE DISCONNECT FITTINGS

1991-09-01
AIR1358
This AIR indicates those dimensions, deemed critical by the manufacturer, which are required to be adhered to so that proper mating of the disconnect hose fitting with the correct disconnect be accomplished. The dimensions are critical, but not necessarily complete, in defining these fittings since there are other criteria which must also be met.

Automatic Presentation of Supplemental Oxygen Masks

2012-04-12
ARP4287
This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) provides design, operation, construction, test and installation recommendations for equipment that automatically presents supplemental oxygen masks to cabin occupants in the event of loss of cabin pressure. It specifically covers automatic presentation for transport category aircraft that operate above 30,000 ft (9144 m) altitude, although it also provides guidance for similar equipment used in non-transport category aircraft, or aircraft operated below 30,000 f (9144 m) altitude.

Aviator's Breathing Oxygen Purity Standard

2012-10-18
AS8010C
This document defines the minimum degree of purity and maximum levels of certain deleterious impurities allowable for aviator's breathing oxygen at the point of manufacture or generation. It covers gaseous, liquid, and chemically generated oxygen, and oxygen supplied by in situ concentration and in situ electrolysis. Different limits are established for oxygen from different sources, in recognition of differences in the ways the oxygen is stored, dispensed, and utilized, taking into account the safety of the user. These limits are not intended to specifically reflect upon the relative capabilities or merits of various technologies. Procurement documents may specify more stringent limits, where required for specific applications. Medical oxygen is not covered by this standard. In the United States, medical oxygen is a prescription drug.

CONTINUOUS FLOW CHEMICAL OXYGEN GENERATORS

2011-08-15
AS1304
This Aerospace Standard (AS) provides recommended design guidelines for composition formation, performance, testing and reliability of metal-chlorate-perchlorate class solid chemical oxygen generators, supplying oxygen at essentially ambient pressure, for aircraft whose cabin pressure altitude does not exceed 40,000 feet (12,192 m).

Continuous Flow Chemical Oxygen Generators

2014-06-24
AS1304B
This SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) applies to performance and testing of solid chemical oxygen generators which produce oxygen at essentially ambient pressure for use aboard aircraft whose cabin pressure altitude does not exceed 40,000 ft (about 12,200 m). Portable chemical oxygen devices are covered by AS1303.

Crewmember Demand Oxygen Mask For Transport Category Aircraft

2016-06-09
AS8026A
This standard covers oxygen masks and breathing valves used with both panel mounted and mask mounted demand and pressure-demand oxygen regulators. Mask mounted oxygen regulators are covered under other standards, but when the mask mounted regulator incorporates an integral exhalation valve, the performance of this valve shall meet the requirements of this standard.

Crewmember Demand Oxygen Mask for Transport Category Aircraft

2019-08-14
AS8026B
This standard covers oxygen masks and breathing valves used with both panel mounted and mask mounted demand and pressure-demand oxygen regulators. Mask mounted oxygen regulators are covered under other standards, but when the mask mounted regulator incorporates an integral exhalation valve, the performance of this valve shall meet the requirements of this standard.

DYNAMIC TESTING SYSTEMS FOR OXYGEN BREATHING EQUIPMENT

1987-04-01
ARP1109A
This ARP describes test equipment and methods used for testing continuous flow, demand and pressure demand regulators and their associated masks as well as filtered protective breathing devices; such articles of oxygen breathing or protective breathing equipment may be tested as individual components or as a complete system.

Determination of Chlorine in Oxygen from Solid Chemical Oxygen Generators

2011-06-21
ARP1320A
This ARP covers a procedure to be used in the determination of 0.05 to 0.3 ppm of chlorine in oxygen from any type of generator used for emergency or other life-support systems. The methyl orange method described can be considered as a referee technique. Instrumental analysis is also given in Section 8.

Fuel Versus Oxygen: Evaluations and Considerations

2012-04-12
AIR5648
Specific Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) define oxygen system requirements for an in-flight decompression incident. This AIR addresses the oxygen system requirements for a decompression incident that may occur at any point during a long-range flight, with an emphasis for a decompression at the equal time point (ETP). This AIR identifies fuel and oxygen management contingencies, and presents a possible solution for the most efficient, safe, and optimum flight continuation.
