CCA -Portable Controlled Contamination Area (on wing CCA)
AIR7522
This SAE Aerospace Information Report (AIR) gives guidelines for the design of local “controlled contamination area” (CCA) which can provide a particle-free zone in a hangar or field environment. These guidelines may be used when performing bonded repairs specified in an approved repair procedure or with the agreement of the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or regulatory authority.
Rationale: The purpose of this document is to provide guidelines for the construction of local CCA and its use create a controlled climate (temperature, humidity ) and contamination area that may be referenced in repair documents produced by airlines or airframe or engine manufacturers. In the absence of sufficient guidance in the repair document, these guidelines can be used to maintain a controlled contamination area. A Controlled Contamination Area (CCA) may be required for the repair so that oils, lubricants, dirt / dust and other contaminants are at levels that are acceptable for structural bonding
