Diffuse Axonal Injury (DAI) is the most common type of traumatic brain injury, and it is associated with the linear and rotational accelerations resulting from head impacts, which often occurs in traffic related and sports accidents. To investigate the degree of influence of linear and rotational acceleration on DAI, a two-factor, two-level rat head impact experimental protocol involving linear and rotational acceleration was established using the L4(23) orthogonal table in this paper. Following the protocol, rats head was injured and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) was performed at 24h post-injury to obtain the whole brain DAI injury, and the fractional anisotropy (FA) value of the corpus callosum was selected as the evaluation indicator. Using analysis of variance, the sum of squared deviations for the evaluation indicators was calculated to determine the degree of influence of linear acceleration and rotational acceleration on DAI. The results show that, 1.

2024-01-2720
In order to realize the series-parallel switching control of hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) with dual-motor hybrid configuration, a method of unpowered interrupt switching based on the coordinated control of three power sources was proposed by analyzing the series-parallel driving mode of the dual-motor hybrid configuration. The series to parallel switching process is divided into three stages: speed regulation stage, clutch combination and power source switching. The distribution control of speed regulating torque is carried out in the speed regulating stage. The speed adjustment torque is preferentially allocated to the power source of the input shaft (engine and P1) to carry out the lifting torque. Due to the high speed adjustment accuracy and fast response of the P1 motor, the input shaft is preferentially allocated to P1 for speed adjustment, that is, the torque intervention of P1.

In order to realize the shift control of dual-motor hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), a non-power interruption shift control method based on three-power source coordination control was proposed by analyzing the shift process of dual-motor hybrid configuration. The shift control process was divided into three stages: oil-filling self-learning stage, torque exchange stage and inertia control stage. In the torque exchange stage, the characteristics of the speed stage and torque stage were analyzed, which was different from the traditional method's dependence on pressure sensor, longitudinal acceleration sensor and engine torque accuracy. A shift clutch gain self-learning strategy based on shift time and input shaft speed soaring problem was proposed.

2024-01-2714
In order to solve the problems of the shuffle caused by internal and external excitation and the difficulty in obtaining the real-time accurate engine torque during the parallel mode operation of hybrid electric vehicles, a dynamic coordination control strategy for suppressing the jitter of hybrid electric vehicles based on the closed-loop control of engine speed was proposed. The engine torque filtering control method based on the slope limit was adopted to limit the rate of change of the engine torque and reduce the impact caused by the sudden change of the engine torque; the engine speed closed-loop control method was used to take the motor speed which is easy to be measured accurately in real time as the feedback control variable, which solved the problem of the real-time accurate estimation of the engine torque online. In parallel mode, the motor torque accounts for a small proportion because the torque distribution method gives priority to the engine.

In hybrid vehicles, the drive motor is directly connected to the drive train and the inherent drive train damping is low. When subjected to external disturbance, the low damping characteristics of the transmission system may cause torsional vibration, which will continue to oscillate the transmission system and affect the driving performance of the vehicle. In this paper, we propose a harmonic injection wheel control method based on motor speed to suppress oscillations and improve the driving performance of hybrid electric vehicles. The harmonic injection control method based on motor speed is based on Fourier transform to decompose sinusoidal harmonics based on specific order of motor speed. RLS algorithm is used to estimate the amplitude and phase, and PI control is used to calculate the compensation torque for the actual amplitude and target amplitude. Simulation and test results show that the proposed control strategy is effective in suppressing oscillations.

The driving risk field model offers a feasible approach for assessing driving risks and planning safe trajectory in complex traffic scenarios. However, the conventional risk field fails to account for the vehicle size and acceleration, results in the same trajectories are generated when facing different vehicle types and unable to make safe decisions in emergency situations. Therefore, this paper firstly introduces the acceleration and vehicle size of surrounding vehicles for improving the driving risk model. Then, an integrated decision-making and planning model is proposed based on the combination of the novelty risk field and model predictive control (MPC), in which driving risk and vehicle dynamics constraints are taken into consideration. Finally, the multiple driving scenarios are designed and analyzed for validate the proposed model.

Velocity prediction on hilly road can be applied to the energy-saving predictive control of intelligent vehicles. However, the existing methods do not deeply analyze the difference and diversity of road slope driving characteristics, which affects prediction performance of some prediction method. To further improve the prediction performance on road slope, and different road slope driving features are fully exploited and integrated with the common prediction method. A rolling prediction-based multi-scale fusion prediction considering road slope transition driving characteristics is proposed in this study. Due to the lack of masking effect from the engine, noise and vibration from the drivetrain system have become a critical issue in electric vehicles. To address this problem, this study aims at proposing a comprehensive optimization method with respect to multiple internal excitation sources to reduce the noise and vibration of the electric drivetrain system (EDS). A rigid-flexible coupling dynamic (RFCD) model is first proposed by incorporating the elements of electric motors, gear pairs, bearings, shafts, and housing. Based on the proposed model, optimizations concerning multiple internal excitations are carried out by designing the notch width of the stator core and optimizing the modification parameters of the tooth surface along the flank and lead direction. Meanwhile, multiple operating conditions are considered in the optimization of the tooth surface to cover a complete working condition of the EDS.

This work presents a multi-objective adaptive cruise control (ACC) system via deep reinforcement learning (DRL). During the control period, it quantitatively considers three indexes: tracking accuracy, riding comfort, and fuel economy. The system balances contradictions between different indexes to achieve the best overall control results. First, a hierarchical control architecture is utilized, where the upper level controller is synthesized under DRL framework to give out the vehicle desired acceleration. The lower level controller executes the command and compensates vehicle dynamics. Then, four state variables that can comprehensively determine the car-following states are selected for better convergence. Multi-objective reward function is quantitatively designed referring to the evaluation indexes, in which safety constraints are considered by adding violation penalty. Thereafter, the training environment which excludes the disturbance of preceding car acceleration is built.

Taking an off-road vehicle equipped with 32-speed binary logic automatic transmission (AT) as the research object, the slope starting control research is carried out. The slope starting process is divided into the overcoming resistance stage, the sliding friction stage, and the synchronization stage. The control strategies for each stage are designed respectively. Focusing on the control of the sliding friction stage, the equivalent two-speed model of the starting clutch is established, which realizes the calculation of the speed difference and the slip rate between the driving and driven ends of the starting clutch. Furthermore, the slope starting control strategy based on the proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control of the clutch slip rate is designed. Through the simulation tests of the vehicle starting at different slopes, the correctness of the slope starting control strategy has been verified by MATLAB/Simulink.

This paper presents experimental investigations of diagnosing and analyzing the low-frequency, low- SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) noise sources of three motorcycles using a hybrid technology that consists of a passive SODAR (Sonic Detection And Ranging) and modified HELS (Helmholtz Equation Least Squares) methods. The former enables one to determine the precise locations of multiple sound sources in 3D space simultaneously over the entire frequency range that is consistent with a measurement microphone in non-ideal environment, where there are random background noise and unknown interfering signals. The latter enables one to reconstruct all acoustic quantities such as the acoustic pressure, acoustic intensity, time-averaged acoustic power, radiation patterns, and sound transmission paths through arbitrarily shaped vibrating structures.

With the development of cellular communication technology and for the sake of reducing drag resistance, the multi-lane platoon technology will be more prosperous in the future. In this article, the cooperative vehicle platoon method on the public road is represented. The method’s architecture is mainly composed of the following parts: decision-making, path planning and control command generation. The decision-making uses the finite state machine to make decision and judgment on the cooperative lane change of vehicles, and starts to execute the lane change step when the lane change requirements are met. In terms of path planning, with the goal of ensuring comfort, the continuity of the vehicle state and no collision between vehicles, a fifth-order polynomial is used to fit every vehicle trajectory. In terms of control command generation module, a model predictive control algorithm is used to solve the multi-vehicle centralized optimization control problem.

The adoption of lithium-ion batteries in vehicle electrification is fast growing due to high power and energy demand on hybrid and electric vehicles. However, the battery overall performance changes with time through the vehicle life. This paper investigates the electric vehicle battery cell aging under different usages. Battery cell experimental data including open circuit voltage and internal resistance is utilized to build a typical electric vehicle model in the AVL-Cruise platform. Four driving cycles (WLTP, UDDS, HWFET, and US06) with different ambient temperatures are simulated to acquire the battery cell terminal currents. These battery cell terminal current data are inputs to the MATLAB/Simulink battery aging model. Simulation results show that battery degrades quickly in high ambient temperatures. After 15,000 hours usage in 50 degrees Celsius ambient temperature, the usable cell capacity is reduced up to 25%.

In order to improve the mode switching performance of parallel hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) and make better use of the dynamics of the vehicle, this paper proposes a three-stage control method for the start-up mode of start-up, speed synchronization, and clutch slip based on the response characteristics of actual vehicle components and the complex working conditions of the actual road. In the speed synchronization phase, a coordinated control method of “engine speed active following + continuously variable transmission (CVT) speed ratio motor speed limiting” is proposed. Forecasting the motion of the leading vehicle is a critical task for connected autonomous vehicles as it provides an efficient way to model the leading-following vehicle behavior and analyze the interactions. In this study, a personalized time-series modeling approach for leading vehicle trajectory prediction considering different driving styles is proposed. The method enables a precise, personalized trajectory prediction for leading vehicles with limited inter-vehicle communication signals, such as vehicle speed, acceleration, space headway, and time headway of the front vehicles. Based on the learning nature of human beings that a human always tries to solve problems based on grouping and similar experience, three different driving styles are first recognized based on an unsupervised clustering with a Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM).
