There are a wide variety of wrought aluminum alloys, each developed to provide specific properties. Getting the strength participants need in an aluminum alloy requires knowledge of the effects of alloy composition, cold-working, and heat treating on aluminum metallurgy and properties. A good understanding of how aluminum alloys behave and what can be done to modify their properties is critical for being more productive and profitable. The course takes about one hour to complete and consists of one module and a final exam. Also, quizzes and problems provide participants opportunities to apply the concepts taught.

Metals and alloys have different melting ranges depending on their chemistry. High temperature metals are much harder at room temperature, have exceptionally high melting points (usually above 2000 degree Celsius), and are resistant to wear, corrosion and deformation. From Materials to Battery Cells: In this course we will go deeper and explore each of the steps required for turning materials into battery cells in more detail.

The course introduces the value of standards and how they can be better utilized within organizations. The course also examines standards in the global marketplace, looks at the role of competition, competitiveness, and differentiation, and identifies strategic priorities related to standardization and standards, specifically related to supply chain and international trade agreements. Participants will gain an understanding of a strategic approach for the management and utilization of standards within an organization. The estimated time to completion, including practice exercises, knowledge checks and the learning assessment is two hours.
